Sunday, October 29th, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. the Blessing of the Animals service will begin outside of the church in the breezeway with Eucharistic Mass to follow inside the church sanctuary. Bring your pet to church to be blessed.

St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals. It is in the service of the blessing of the animals that we recognize in the animals as our neighbors in Christ because they are God’s creatures, just like people. St. Francis said regarding animals: “Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission — to be of service to them wherever they require it.” St. Francis prayed that God would work through him to help animals as well as people. Can we do no less?
This service blesses the animals in our lives and blesses the caretakers of those precious creatures of God.
